Here are some of the most common questions our customers ask when buying a domain name for their online business:
1)Q: What exactly is a domain name?
A domain name is your website address. It can also be your email address as well. By having a domain name, you are represented around the world with your own personal Internet identity. Only you will have that unique name brand. No two parties can ever hold the same web address simultaneously. There is only one domain name each. Never, ever, will there be another.
2)Q: Instead of buying a domain, why not just register a new name instead?
You could. Domain names are being registered by the thousands every single day. But thousands of names are also being abandoned and not renewed every single day. The reason is simple. With more than a billion people now on the Internet, whatever name is still available has to be junk or it wouldn't be available! No one will take any company seriously that has a junk name for their Web site. The Internet is now a very competitive place. It's a proven fact having the right name can make all the difference.
3)Q: Are your prices negotiable?
No. In fact, our prices will never be lower! We are regularly increasing our prices to keep up with demand. The Internet is doubling in size every year. Around the world, over 50,000 new users join the Internet everyday! Memorable, attractive, and professional looking names are now necessary for success. Keep in mind that a good name can easily pay for itself in a short time and become a valuable asset as well.
4)Q: What advantage is there to own more than one domain name?
Having multiple domains gives you greater visibility. Successful companies use additional names to promote and highlight their individual products and services. Extra names also increase your potential to be listed and found via multiple methods in search engines. By creating unique advertising with attractive names, they can target localized markets for extra business.
5)Q: Are there any extra or hidden fees when purchasing a name from you?
None. No extra fees at all. The price we have listed, is the full and complete one-time cost. The transfer and escrow fees are already included in our price. The only cost you will encounter later is the basic registration renewal fee. You do not pay that to us. That fee is charged by the registrar that the name is registered through. The yearly fee ranges from $10 to $35 in price depending on what official registrar you use. Every domain owner must pay their registration renewal to maintain ownership of the name. Those minimal fees are what pays for the governing of the Internet!
6)Q: Do I have complete and exclusive ownership once I purchase the name?
Yes. There are no strings attached. Once you approve and finalize the escrow ownership transfer, you have complete control and exclusive ownership of the domain name. It will be ready to start working for you. You can also just park it, or sell it to anyone else at anytime. The name is totally yours!
7)Q: How quickly can I start using the name after purchasing it?
Almost immediately. If you are just forwarding the name to another site, it takes only seconds. If you wish to use the name instead for a new website, it may take up to 12 hours for the global servers to update to the settings of your hosting provider.
8)Q: What happens if I purchase a name, but don’t have my website ready?
Don’t worry, there’s no rush. You can simply park it, or make a free simple webpage using your control panel, or just forward the name to another site. As long as your registration is kept current you can take as much time as you need. Since a domain name requires no maintenance and never wears out, it makes an excellent investment.
9)Q: Are there extra domain services included or available?
There are both a number of free and pay options. The free services are domain name forwarding, email forwarding, DNS control, simple website and hosting, parking page, security lock, auto-renew, plus an easy to use control panel. Some of the pay services are commercial web hosting, eCommerce website creation, Secure Socket Certificates (SSL), POP email, and ID Protect. All of these services are provided by the current Registrar where the name is registered.
10)Q: What does domain or URL “Forwarding” mean?
Forwarding a domain name is a free option that enables you to redirect incoming traffic from one name to a different name that already has an existing Web site. That way, when someone accesses your domain, he or she is automatically sent to that other site or even to a specific page you wish them to go to.
11)Q: What does the extra feature of “Framing” do?
Forwarding using the free URL “Framing” option, prevents visitors from knowing that they have been redirected to a different website name. Your forwarded domain name remains in the visitor's browser's address bar when he/she is being redirected. Thus concealing the actual destination address. The “Forwarding with Framing” option also enables you to add a title bar, a description, and Meta tag keywords to the masked site. Title and Meta tag information is important to a Web site’s search engine ranking without influencing how a Web site is being displayed.
12) Q: How can my domain name be used as an email address?
In your Control Panel, simply create the email addresses you want using your new domain name. Here's some examples: Info@YourDomain, Sales@YourDomain, David@YourDomain, SpecialToday@YourDomain.The free email forwarding option will automatically redirect those addresses to any existing mailboxes you already have. Create them for business, others for fun and personal use. Remember, your email addresses will always be completely portable. Never lose contact with those listing you in their address book. No need to notify everyone of your email address change. If you change your primary email provider, you simply redirect your domain email addresses to your new email account. By using your domain as a contact email address, it clearly tells everyone you're in business!
13)Q: Do you provide hosting services?
No, we just specialize in unique domain names. The Registrar which our names are registered through does offer hosting packages including a basic website with free hosting. There are other companies that deal exclusively in the business of web hosting. We personally use and recommend this one:Click Here
14)Q: How do I connect my domain name to the hosting company where my website will be?
Using your domain Control Panel and Manager, choose “DNS server settings”. Then simply submit or modify the domain name servers (DNS) to the addresses provided by your hosting provider. There are usually two DNS addresses required and they will look similar to this: NS1.yourhost.net and NS2.yourhost.net. Your hosting company can tell you what exact DNS addresses are needed to add your domain to your existing hosting account.
15)Q: What if I want to change and transfer the name to another Registrar?
No problem! You can transfer the name to any other domain registrar that you wish without any penalty. All paid registration time is preserved and is transferred as well. Simple instructions are provided in your Domain Control Panel on how to unlock the security protection and allow the name to be transferred to another registrar. No paperwork is involved and your web hosting settings stay intact without interruption.
